SYSTEMS LAB / DATA
Turn a display into a decision tool.
This planned collection will examine dashboard and data-tool concepts. No live dashboards or downloadable tools are available in this draft. Future examples should connect each visualization to a defined question and make the underlying assumptions understandable.
Start with the definition
A metric needs a clear definition, a source, and a reporting period. Demonstrations should identify calculation logic, filters, refresh behavior, and data limitations so that the same number means the same thing to every reader.
Test the interpretation
A polished chart is only useful when its meaning is clear. Future examples should distinguish observed results from estimates and show how missing values, small samples, or inconsistent records can affect interpretation. Any synthetic demonstration data should be explicitly labeled.
